lyrics

Lower The Lights

On the night that the lights weren't low enough and you could see just what I was.

I know the message seems at times poorly drawn hieroglyphic lines.
You know you gotta get this story right, if you're gonna gain some sort of insight.
But insight's not the only thing I'm missing fundamentally.
You just have to smile and wash your hands, if you're gonna have a chance at happiness.

There were stories that I told you in the dark, that bore worm holes in your all too trusting heart again.
But delusions aren't the worst thing one could have, once you see just what I am.

On the night...

Let me close the curtains, let me keep you in the dark.
We could burn ourselves alive with just a spark.
And every filthy witness, every stain and every truth
They would come back to you

On the night...

I know it's hard to swallow what's hard to chew.
When you see the light reflecting back on you.
And if you say the past's a waste of time well I'm afraid you might be right,
But if you tell me there's no future well then I know you're lying.

On the night...

Wild Hearses Guelph, Ontario

Wild Hearses is the unlikely reincarnation of a band that started twenty years ago. In the early 90s, Erik Knudsen and the Rhyno Brothers cut their teeth playing basements and all-ages shows in Thunder Bay, ON. Produced by Ian McGettigan, "Ruins" continues right where the band left off. ... more
